Diriamba

Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of North America. Physiographically, Central America is a tropical isthmus that connects North and South America. It includes 7 countries and many small offshore islands. Overall, the land is fertile and rugged, and dominated through its heart by a string of volcanic mountain ranges with a few active volcanos.

Diriamba is a city in the Carazo department of Nicaragua. The city is well known in the country by a number of characteristic events and landmarks, as well as its mild weather, rich agricultural lands and cheerful people. The city celebrates the life and story of the Chorotega chieftain named Diriangen and famed by his struggle against the invasion by the Spanish conquistadors.

Also the city is home to the Diriangen Soccer Club, a traditional powerhouse in Nicaraguan professional soccer. Diriamba is home to three principal churches, the most famed and one of the most beautiful churches in the country being La Basilica de San Sebastian. Another important landmark is the clock tower located at the main intersection leading traffic in and out of the town.

Diriamba is the kind of town you daydream about. It is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries.
