Nunoa

Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of North America. Physiographically, Central America is a tropical isthmus that connects North and South America. It includes 7 countries and many small offshore islands. Overall, the land is fertile and rugged, and dominated through its heart by a string of volcanic mountain ranges with a few active volcanos.

Nunoa is a municipality of Chile located in the eastern part of the province of Santiago. It is a mainly residential part of the city of Santiago. Nunoa covers an area of 16.9 square kilometers and is home to 163,511 people in 2002 census. The municipality's inhabitants are primarily an established middle class, with some residents making up a part of the upper-middle class.

Nunoa boasts bustling public and private sector businesses and a public transportation system capable of reaching all parts of the municipality. Most of Nunoa's commercial activity is localized along the Irarrazaval Avenue, a 6 kilometers road crossing the entire municipality's area from east to west, and centered in Plaza Nunoa, an area colloquially known as Nunork for its bohemian night life.

Nunoa prides itself on its important role in social and cultural development in the history of Chile as well as on the opportunity provided to its citizens to live, work, and grow in a clean and prosperous environment. A 2005 study placed Nunoa at the top of a list of municipalities in the Metropolitan Region with the highest quality of life.

Nunoa is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in Central America worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of Central America.
