The state of Sao Paulo is also highly populated, however most metropolitan areas hug Sao Paulo with the exception of Ribeirao Preto. The entire state has a population of over 40 million. The total area is 1,522.99 square kilometers with population of city in 2006 is 11,016,703 and density is 7,233 per square kilometers.
