Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of North America. Physiographically, Central America is a tropical isthmus that connects North and South America. It includes 7 countries and many small offshore islands. Catia La Mar is a city in the municiplaity of Vargas, in the State of Vargas in Maiquetia. It is Maiquetia's neighbor to the west. Catia la Mar is about 10 minutes from Simon Bolivar International Airport. Named after Venezuela's first non military president and doctor Jose Maria Vargas, the Estado Vargas is one of the 23 states into which Venezuela is divided. Located in the north of Venezuela it borders Estado Aragua to the west, estado Miranda to the east, the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Metropolitan District to the south. Maiquetia is a town in Vargas, Venezuela, near Caracas. It is located the Simon Bolivar International Airport, which handles both international and domestic flights.
