It has a population of 69,222 in the year 2004 and is part of the Greater Montevideo agglomeration. Uruguay, officially the Eastern Republic of Uruguay or the Republic East of the Uruguay, is a nation located in southern part of South America. The Canelones Department, with an area of 4,536 square kilometers and 485,240 inhabitants is located to the south of Uruguay.
