Natal

Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of North America. Physiographically, Central America is a tropical isthmus that connects North and South America. It includes 7 countries and many small offshore islands. Overall, the land is fertile and rugged, and dominated through its heart by a string of volcanic mountain ranges with a few active volcanos.

Natal is a major tourist destination in Brazil. Natal is the capital city of Rio Grande does Norte, a north eastern state in Brazil. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 712,317. It is located in west, in the far east of South America. The city has a total area of 170 square kilometers. Natal lies on the Atlantic Ocean, at the mouth of the Potengi river.

The northeastern tip of South America, cape Sao Roque, 20 miles to the north of Natal, was first visited by European navigators in 1501, in the 1501 to 1502 Portuguese expedition led by Amerigo Vespucci, who named the spot after the saint of the day. On December 25, 1599, Natal was established as a village outside the fort. Natal benefited from the growth of the industries of salt and petroleum. Natal grew quickly, but in a somewhat planned way and transit flows smoothly, public services are well distributed, ecologic conscience is visible and violence levels are low. Tourists discovered the city, which became one of the major tourist destinations in Brazil.

With its dozens of sandy, white beaches, such as Ponta Negra and its famous Morro do Careca, Tabatinga the cliff of dolphins, Pirangi, Redinha, and Genipabu with its famous fixed sand dunes and imported camels, tourism is the most important industry of Natal, attracting Brazilians, Europeans, and Americans alike. In fact, the largest cashew tree in the world is located near the coast in the neighborhood of Pirangi, south of the city center. This tree has a circumference of 500 metres and occupies an area of 7,300 meter square, making it 70 times the size of average cashew trees.

Natal is the safest capital city in Brazil, and one of the Brazilian cities nearest Europe and North America. Natal is said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. It enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
