Pinar del Rio is a city in Cuba. It is the capital of Pinar del Rio Province. It is located in a major tobacco-growing area and is a centre of the cigar industry. The area is of 70.7 square kilometers, density is 270,4 per square kilometers, with a population of 189,221.
Pinar del Rio is one of the provinces of Cuba. It is at the western end of the island of Cuba. The Pinar del Rio province contains one of Cuba's three main mountain ranges, the Cordillera de Guaniguanico, divided into the easterly Sierra del Rosario and the westerly Sierra de los Organos. These form a landscape characterised by steep sided limestone hills and flat, fertile valleys.

It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
