Its population is 285,581 in 2004 and has an area of 4529.7 square kilometers, with a density of 60.71 people per square kilometers. Uberaba is the trade centre of an important agricultural area, producing cattle, rice, oranges, corn, beans, coffee, sugarcane and bananas.
